Meditations on Silence An exhibition of Artwork Opening Reception

The Arts Center for Enlightenment is pleased to present Meditations on Silence, an exhibition of artwork that explores the theme of silence, with interpretations ranging from somber to energetic. The exhibition features work that dispels the notion that silence is stagnant. Meditations on Silence will be presented in the Westland City Hall Gallery on May 6-30. An opening reception will be held on Friday, May 10, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.

“Meditations on Silence explores concepts, symbols, and revelations of silence in its various expressions,” said co-organizer Nancy Paton. “Works in the exhibition are literal and abstract personal interpretations of the theme,” said Paton. “There is silence in everything,” she said, “and art helps you experience the silence within all forms.”

Featured artist in the show include: Jean-Paul Aboudib, Mandy Getschman, Sr. Eloise Hirlemann, Ilham Mahfouz, Kay Masini, Nancy Paton, Gwendolyn Roth, Margaret Sands-Goldstein, Scheila Scheffler, Chuck Schroeder, Douglas Stein, Joan Verla and Sharlene Welton.
