Beaumont Hospital - Wayne, located at 33155 Annapolis, Wayne is temporarily closed to all patients except coronavirus victims.  This includes the emergency room.

In order to help decrease the spread of COVID-19, City of Westland Administrative Offices are closed to the public through April 13, 2020. Please review our online services and department contact emails and phone numbers located on our website.  City staff will still be responding to emails and voicemails as quickly as possible.  There are also two drop boxes located at City Hall for bill payments (no cash please) and document drop offs that will be checked daily.  Thank you for your patience in this unprecedented challenging time and please stay healthy.

Wayne County Lightfest

The Wayne County Lighfest will be open Thursday, November 17 - December 31, 2016 for families to enjoy! The entrance for the Lightfest is on Merriman Road between Ann Arbor Trail and Warren Avenue in Westland. The address for the Lighfest is 7651 Merriman Road in Westland.

As the Midwest’s largest and longest drive-through light show, Lightfest features more than 47 giant animated holiday themed displays. The entire light show has been converted to environmentally beneficial LED lights.

Lightfest is open Monday – Thursday; 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m., Friday – Sunday; 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. through December 31. However, Lighfest is closed on Christmas Day, Dec. 25. Visitors enter Lightfest at Hines Drive and Merriman Road in Westland and exit onto Warren Avenue near Telegraph Road in Dearborn Heights. There is a $5 fee per vehicle. Hines Drive closes to traffic at 6:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday and at 5:00 p.m. Friday – Sunday.

December 6, 13 and 20 are Toy Nights. On these three nights, the community is invited to bring a new, unwrapped toy in lieu of the $5 vehicle fee.

Remember to visit Santa’s Workshop at Warrendale Park at the end of the Lightfest drive. Santa will be there starting November 18 until December 23, concurrent with the Lightfest hours of operation. Don’t forget to bring your letters to Santa! Outside of Santa’s workshop there will be a giant mailbox where kids of all ages can drop off their letters to Santa.
