Due to the current drop in temperature over this weekend, the City of Westland is closing it's cooling centers but will continue to monitor temperatures and reopen the cooling centers as needed. 

Westland City Hall, City Parks and the Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center are open for our residents. Online services and the City drop boxes are still available for residents to use.  The two drop boxes located at City Hall for bill payments (no cash please) and document drop offs that will be checked daily.  The Senior Friendship Center will continue to be closed until further notice.  Thank you for your patience in this unprecedented challenging time and please stay healthy.

Recruitment:

Working at a precinct on Election Day is a wonderful way to serve your community and to meet your neighbors. On average, the City of Westland holds two elections each year in the months of August and November. We are currently accepting applications. Applications are available at the City Clerk's office or you may download one from the link below.

Training dates will vary and will be scheduled before regularly scheduled elections. All election workers must be trained before being scheduled to work.

Qualifications:

You must be a registered voter in the State of Michigan, have moderate computer skills, be able to work well with others and be able to read and follow directions. All election workers will operate the laptop computer during the course of the day.
