Due to the Extreme Heat over the upcoming week, the City of Westland has opened an emergency cooling center for residents. Cooling Center hours and location.

The Great Lakes Water Authority is flushing and chlorinating the water main from Newburgh to Venoy from 7/7/2020-7/9/2020.  This maintenance will appear to be a water main break but isn't.  If you have any questions please contact GLWA at 313-999-3298.

Westland City Hall, City Parks and the Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center are open for our residents. Online services and the City drop boxes are still available for residents to use.  The two drop boxes located at City Hall for bill payments (no cash please) and document drop offs that will be checked daily.  The Senior Friendship Center will continue to be closed until further notice.  Thank you for your patience in this unprecedented challenging time and please stay healthy.

These elegant spaces can be used for weddings, birthday parties, business meetings, office parties, showers etc. You are welcome to cater your event and reserve our warming kitchen which features: freezer, refrigerator, warming box, ice maker, commercial sink with garbage disposal and prep area. This beautiful facility has charm and culture with featured local artists in our Art Gallery. The Full Gene McKinney Ballroom is a state of the art facility which features (2) 87” projection screens with wireless sound and presentation systems. The 3,260 square feet space can entertain approximately 200 guests. The space can be divided into two separate banquet rooms to accommodate smaller events.

 The Full Community rooms feature (2) 80” HD displays with wireless sound and presentation systems. The 1,545 square feet space can entertain approximately 100 guests. This space can also be divided into two separate conference rooms to accommodate smaller events.

Farmers and Artisans Marketplace

This state-of-the-art facility features central air and heat and wireless sound system for over the top fun. Also enjoy the indoor fireplace for nostalgic memories. This popular space is great for outdoor/indoor celebrations such as: graduation parties, showers, birthday parties, open houses and intimate weddings. The facility overlooks a scenic pond and has a patio that can be reserved to extend your event outdoors. There is a separate small prep space which includes a sink and storage area. This intimate gem is a great way to bring approximately 45 guests together. Your guests will enjoy the H20 Zone Spray Park at a minimal rate or enjoy the Play Planet which is the 5th largest play structure in the country.

Tattan Park

A 10-acre park located at 1901 N. Carlson. Located at the corner of Carlson and Orr Drive. Tattan Park has been transformed into every kids dream playground. Pick your favorite foods from our wonderful concession area.

Play Planet

A 20,000 square foot space themed play structure. One of the five largest in the U.S. Play planet is a continuous play structure featuring slides, climbing apparatus, towers, decks, observation areas, spinning seats, and other space themed equipment.

H20 Zone Spray Park


This state-of-the-art facility is the newest addition. The Spray ground features an 18 ft. helicopter build 10 feet above the ground that sprays water from its rotors. Come have some fun in the sun and get dumped on by the huge water bucket, sprayed by the sea serpent, squirted with a water gun or sprinkled by one of our many in ground jets! The system recirculates the water and coincides with Mayor Wild’s mission greens concept. 

Concrete Jungle Skate Park


17,000 square foot concrete and asphalt skate park. Located west of Tattan Park. Includes 3 bowls, large half pipe, large ramps, one fun box, and ten stair ramp with handrail.

Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center

JBCVC houses the City of Westland Department of Housing and Community Development and Nankin Transit Commission. The center features a reading library, Norwayne Boxing gym, D.U.O, Outdoor recreation pavilion, baseball diamonds and outdoor basketball court.

Friendship Senior Center

The City of Westland's Senior Resources Department develops and implements a comprehensive program designed to address the changing needs of older adults in the community. The Senior Resources Department is located in the Westland Friendship Center at 1119 N. Newburgh Rd. The Center is a focal point for residents seeking information and referral to programs offered through the Center and to other organizations specializing in older adult services. The Center not only provides recreational and social activities but provides many programs and services aimed to aid our residents who are 50 years and older to successfully live the happiest, healthiest, most fulfilling life possible. Visitors are welcome The 17,000 sq. ft. Friendship Center is one of Michigan's premier facilities, offering the finest in equipment and amenities. The Center offers programs and services that provide education, recreation, socialization, technology, and nutrition and fitness.
