Due to the current drop in temperature over this weekend, the City of Westland is closing it's cooling centers but will continue to monitor temperatures and reopen the cooling centers as needed. 

Westland City Hall, City Parks and the Jefferson Barns Community Vitality Center are open for our residents. Online services and the City drop boxes are still available for residents to use.  The two drop boxes located at City Hall for bill payments (no cash please) and document drop offs that will be checked daily.  The Senior Friendship Center will continue to be closed until further notice.  Thank you for your patience in this unprecedented challenging time and please stay healthy.

The Westland Police Department believes that keeping citizens informed as to what is going on in their city and neighborhood is important.  The Westland Police Department is therefore happy to be able to provide the below interactive crime mapping tool from the Omega Group and "".

Westland residents will now be able to search the same databases used by the Westland Police Department to learn what is going on in their neighborhood.  Users of the site will be able to search by crime types, date ranges and create custom geographic borders for their queries.  Residents will also be able to receive trend reports regarding criminal activity.  In addition to the research tools offered by the site, residents will be able to receive email "crime alerts" based on the location and types of crimes they specify.
