Westland Hosts Household Hazardous Waste Collection  – Westland Residents may utilize the 

countywide Household Hazardous Waste Collection scheduled by Wayne County’s Department of 

Public Services on Saturday, August, 25 at the Westland Shopping Center parking lot, located at 

35000 Warren Road (lot behind JCPenney’s).  The collection runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and items 

that will be accepted include household paints, stains, lawn and garden chemicals, old computers and 

tv’s, antifreeze and several other items.  Pharmaceutical waste (non-controlled substances only) and 

medical sharps in puncture-proof containers will also be accepted.  All waste must be from residential
