Last Day Dog Rescue held this event at the Wayne Ford Civic League. Last Day Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) organization with a simple mission – saving animals. Last Day is more than just a name; it is a situation that all of our animals are faced with. We are a no-kill animal rescue based in Livonia, Michigan, with foster volunteers located all over the state of Michigan. By foster, we mean that there are loving people who willingly take in these beautiful transient creatures and do their very best to provide them with safety, security and love. This event made it possible for Veterans to adopt with no fees. For more information and how you can adopt please visit: http://www.lastdaydogrescue.org/.
The Friendship Center hosted the Annual First Lady Charity Tea at the Gallery inside of Westland City Hall. All proceeds are going to help St. Jude Children's Hospital. All who attended had a nice spot of tea, wonderful conversation with Westland's First Lady Sherri Wild and tasty treats from Chef Tony and the students from the William D. Ford Career Technical Center.
The Westland Parks and Recreation is partnering with the Livonia Family YMCA for Summer Day Camp starting June 19 through September 1. The camp will be held at the Westland Farmers and Artisans Marketplace Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The program is offered for children ages 6-12. With the careful guidance of trained staff, campers will learn core values that will last forever. They’ll explore, play, grow and have an incredible amount of fun.
