Fire Prevention Division - Fire Prevention Division's mission is to reduce the likelihood of incidents that result in loss of life or property and to mitigate all other losses through a proactive, comprehensive fire inspection program. All fires are investigated as to the cause and origin. This Division also maintains all rescue, fire, and inspection reports for appropriate public access.

Fire Inspection Programs - Businesses are notified 30 to 60 days prior to an annual inspection. Each business is provided with a list of the 13 most common fire code violations to use as a checklist prior to the inspection. After the inspection, all noted violations that are considered to be extremely hazardous or life threatening require immediate compliance. For all non-threatening type of violations, the fire inspectors negotiate a suitable timetable with the business owners for compliance.
Site Plan Review - Site plans, building permits, and fire/alarm system plans submitted to the City are reviewed with regard to applicable fire codes and regulations. Developers are welcome to contact us for preliminary meetings for proposed projects.
Code Enforcement - We enforce fire codes and regulations in commercial businesses and multi-family residences through fire inspections and complaint investigations.
