The museum complex includes the Felton Farmhouse, a typical Michigan farmhouse built in the 1850's, and the Collins House, which stores the Commission's historical archives. The archives include information on local cemeteries, area schools past and present, census of the 1800's, limited death records from the County Poorhouse (Eloise), history of Nankin Township, and the City of Westland. For more information, please call (734) 326-1110.
Octagon House Update
Exciting things are happening at the park site! During phase one (this year) the Octagon House will be put on a permanent foundation and the Greek Revival Rowe House will be brought to the park site. Future construction phases call for a barn, an activity pavilion and park development.
During construction you can see us at the Museum (on the property) every Saturday from 1:00 - 4:00pm except holiday weekends. For more information, call (734)326-1110 and leave a message. We will get back to you.
