About
The City Clerk is an elected position. The City Clerk’s Office is responsible for providing administrative and archival services related to official and legal documents for the City's residents and administration.
Services
Residents can obtain information and receive assistance for:
- Applying for a Animal License.
- Obtaining a Birth or Death Certificate filed in the City of Westland only.
- Obtaining a Garage / Yard Sale Permit.
- Access the Westland City Charter.
- Questions relating to the City Council and contact with its members.
- Questions relating to the Fire and Police Civil Service Commission.
- Applying for a Business License related to:
- Billiard Rooms
- Collision and Bump Shops
- Junkyards
- Marijuana Businesses
- Mechanical Amusement Equipment
- Pet Stores / Kennels, etc.
For a Complete List of Businesses that Require a City License...
- Questions pertaining to permanent records, documents, and ordinances of the City (please note that the Municipal Code of Ordinances can be found online.)
- Administering all City Elections, including voter registration and poll locations.
- Processing Zoning Board of Appeals applicant petitions.
- Notary public services
- Purchasing large format copies of City Street, Voting Precinct, and Zoning maps.
