The unit's primary responsibility is the investigation and prosecution of narcotics cases including interviews, interrogations, drug evidence processing, and case preparation of in-custody felony drug prisoners.

The most common are Alprazolam (Xanax), Valium, Klonopin, and Ativan. These pills are commonly prescribed for anxiety and related disorders. They are considered to be sedatives and if abused, the user typically feels like they are melting into their surroundings, or floating, etc. Benzos are not stimulants.
Cocaine is usually distributed as a white, crystalline powder. Cocaine is often diluted ("cut") with a variety of substances, the most common of which are sugars and local anesthetics. It is "cut" to stretch the amount of the product and increase profits for dealers. Cocaine is typically snorted by the user.
Crack cocaine is a freebase form of cocaine that can be smoked by the user. The cocaine is cooked with another substance, which creates a "rock" like substance.
Methylenedioxy-n-methylamphetamine or MDMA is a 'psychedelic amphetamine' that has gained popularity over the past 20 years because of its ability to produce strong feelings of comfort, empathy, and connection to others. It most frequently comes in tablet form, although it is occasionally sold in capsules or as powder. It is most frequently used orally and rarely snorted.
Heroin is typically sold as a brownish powder and is derived from morphine. It is a highly addictive narcotic, which is "cut" with other drugs or substances such as sugar, starch, etc. Heroin is typically sold in folded pieces of lottery paper, commonly referred to as "lotto folds".
The formal name is Cannabis Sativa or Marijuana; a green plant material that contains tetrahydrocannabinol, more commonly known as THC, the active ingredient which causes the user to become high. Marijuana is usually grown, dried, and then rolled and smoked or used in a pipe or bong. It can also be eaten, usually by being cooked and added to brownie or cookie mixtures. It is sold according to its dried weight in either ounces or grams.
Meth is a stimulant and is a pill or powder. Crystal meth resembles glass shards of various sizes. Meth is swallowed, snorted, injected, or smoked.
A pure form of Methylenedioxy-n-methylamphetamine or MDMA (ecstasy), usually a free powder or in capsules. Often times MDMA is sold as molly. Should be white in color (when it's pure) but is more often beige or yellow-brown, and sometimes brown or rarely gray.
This substance is a prescription drug that is commonly abused. The user will typically add a couple of ounces of the syrup into a bottle of soda then shake it up and drink until they "lean". The user will feel laid back and sleepy, thus causing them to "lean" over. There are also reports that users are putting the syrup into baby bottles for consumption.
Vicodin is a prescription pill that contains acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Both substances are pain killers. When abused, the body experiences a euphoric high. Withdraw is similar to that of heroin, but not as severe.
