  • Animal Business (Kennel) (PDF) - A commercial business that cares for, maintains, boards, etc. other people's dogs.  - Chapter 18, Article I, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Animal Business (Pet Store) (PDF) - A commercial business engaged in buying, selling, renting, or exhibiting animals as pets.  - Chapter 18, Article I, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Christmas Tree Sales (PDF) - Temporary sale of Christmas trees during the Christmas season.  - Chapter 18, Article III, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Collision Bump and Paint Shop (PDF) - Any place, indoors or outdoors, where motor vehicles are repaired or painted for a charge, etc.  - Chapter 26, Article IV, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Going Out of Business (PDF) - License for a going out of business, bankruptcy, etc. sale. It is good for 30 days and must be renewed for any period in excess of 30 days.  - Michigan Public Act 39 of 1961, Section 442
  • Junkyard (PDF) - Any business engaged in the acquisition, storage, or selling of "Junk" as defined in the ordinance.  - Chapter 26, Article VI, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Liquor License (PDF) - For any changes to an existing liquor license or a request for a new license - application must be made with the City of Westland in order to be approved by the Michigan Liquor Control Commission.  - Chapter 10, Section 3, Westland Code of Ordinances

  • Massage Parlor Employee, Practitioner, Instructor, Apprentice (PDF) - Chapter 26, Article VII, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Massage Parlor - Renewal Only (PDF) - New Massage Parlor licenses are not available at this time due to a temporary moratorium. Renewal applications are required each year for existing businesses.  - Chapter 26, Article VII, Westland Code of Ordinances.
  • Mechanical and Electronic Amusement (PDF) - Any machine, device, or contrivance, mechanical or electronic, activated by coin, token, or plate, operated for entertainment or amusement as a game or test of skill. - Chapter 14, Article V, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Pool and Billiard Room (and Tables) (PDF) - Any business that maintains or operates a pool or billiard room. - Chapter 14, Article II, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Precious Metals and Gems Sales (PDF) - Any dealer of jewelry, a precious gem, or an item containing gold, silver, or platinum.  - Chapter 26, Article XIII, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Public Entertainment (PDF) - License to conduct, exhibit or maintain any circus, outdoor movie, outdoor entertainment area, concession stand or amusement stand, or any other outdoor entertainment for which payment is demanded.  - Chapter 14, Article III, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Secondhand Dealer (PDF) - License to maintain and operate a business to purchase and sell secondhand / junk goods.  - Michigan Public Act 350 of 1917, Section 445
  • Soliciting, Canvassing, Peddling (PDF) - License to go door to door, house to house, place to place and street to street for the purpose of soliciting goods, services, etc. as outlined in the ordinance.  - Chapter 26, Article IX, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Street Vendor (PDF) - Any person who sells or peddles on the streets, door to door of homes, offices, stores, restaurants, or other places of business, food, or other products not produced by himself.  - Chapter 26, Article X, Westland Code of Ordinances
  • Temporary Sales / Temporary Structures (PDF) - Temporary sales, uses, or special events and temporary buildings and structures.  - Zoning Ordinance 110, Section 4.13
